Energy prices & UK business

Rising oil, gas and power prices over the last few years have had an impact on economies and companies around the globe. For some manufacturing companies, such as those in steel and chemical production, energy makes up a disproportionately large proportion of their cost base and so they devote a considerable amount of effort to lobbying government and regulators to ensure that, at least, their costs are no higher than those of their competitors abroad. In the following webcast Dr Dominic Maclaine asked Jeremy Nicholson, the director of the Energy Intensive Users Group, what action he would like the UK government to take.
